General Style Tips

  • Our advice would be take something to wear for the first day; other than that, just an empty case! You can buy absolutely everything you could possibly want here.
  • As it's a resort that is totally manufactured for tourists, every possible taste is catered for. And if you take too much, believe us, you'll only end up buying a new bag to bring your shopping home in. Plus, if you stay at one of the timeshare or luxury resorts you may have a washer/dryer in the room to clean anything you've worn too much.
  • You really can wear anything here. We opt for casual lightweight clothes and comfortable flats for daytime and something more glamorous at night with killer heels, but that is just a personal choice; whatever you opt for you will not feel out of place.
  • The most religious site you'll find in Vegas is the Little White Chapel, so the world's your oyster really! Anything goes, at any time in terms of what you wear.
  • In summer it does get very hot, especially July and August, so you'll need to be prepared for that when walking along the strip or sunbathing. Wear plenty of sunscreen (we love the Riemann P20 range for 10 hour protection), sunglasses and a sunhat.
  • Having said that, absolutely every building is air conditioned, so you may like to carry a pashmina or light jacket to put round you.
  • To get a real sense of this town you really do need to walk The Strip from end to end and to do this you will need comfortable walking shoes (we love Hotter shoes, for total comfort and they look great too). Or why not try the Lindsay Phillips Switch Flops range - using interchangeable shoe and flip-flop bases with snap-on decorations, you can change your look from day to evening in an instant whilst still packing light.
  • Winter can be surprisingly cold going as low as 4C in January and February, so dressing in layers will help you cope with the temperature changes.
  • It's surprisingly easy to navigate by car even on the famous Strip and most hotels offer free parking.
  • Don't forget to visit the Grand Canyon. It's one of those things you really must do before you die - and it's best seen from a helicopter rather than a plane, as you get a view from every angle.
  • Another must-do is see one of the amazing shows. If you want to see something in particular then we suggest you book ahead, otherwise there are discount ticket booths that sell half price tickets on the night.
